#4 Traffic Trouble 9-2 ~TOP PICK , trying to find a price in here I landed on this guy. Numbers wise he has run the best Beyers of all the contenders here, was in tight going into the first turn and got stopped on the backside . I thought he ran a good race whilst chasing a very fast 2nd 1/4 set by the eventual winner (Friendly Fella ) who ran the race of his life to wire the field . Should have a more patient ride with Vasquez up .
#3 Jack Beanstalk 6-1 ~ keeps Saez and gets back on turf going long. Ran well on dirt last out and is a rapidly improving sort whilst figuring things out. By Jack Milton, a son of War Front, his return to the turf should be a good one .
#1 Magical Mike 2-1 ~ takes the ultimate drop in class and will be hugely supported for a trainer who is winning at a gaudy 44% !!! I am trying to beat him here but…… he will be on some sort of ticket !
Race 3) MDN $16K CLAIMERS , ONE MILE ON THE TURF (RAILS AT 84 FEET )
#1) Farm Strong 6-1 ~TOP PICK , Son of Wicked Strong ran big, closing well in a 25K Mdn claimer last out his first time on turf . Hopefully he can land a little little closer in a race devoid of any pace……
#4) Mayito 3-1 will move forward for hot trainer Saffie Joseph / but will also be pummeled at the windows.
Race 5) MDN $40K CLAIMERS ONE MILE ON TURF ( rails at 24 feet )
Very competitive field here and many ways to go, also the start of the Rainbow 6 !
#5) Ratify 7-2 ~ TOP PICK , exits a very live race in which he got tested early and late, claimed out of that and now attracts Rosario.
#2) Spiritual King 3-1 ~$250k OBS April Grad now runs for a tag after pressing the pace and fading going 1 1/8 last out . 2nd place finisher now a winner and Trainer Todd Pletcher excels in this category winning at 35 %.
#9) Uncle Fester 20-1 ~ LONGSHOT 1/2 brother to Graded stakes winner Morticia impressed me in local works before a dismal debut. Picks up a solid 7llb apprentice …..going back for round 2!!
Race 7) ONE MILE ON TURF OC/25K
#4) Dominante Themoment 5-2 ~ TOP PICK ~ I see no reason why the son of Street Boss can’t repeat !
Race 9) OPT25/NW1X ONE MILE 1/16
#4) Moretti ~9-5~. TOP PICK , Always have been a fan of this 1/2 brother to the ill fated Battle of Midway , gets the blinkers (back ) on and should be well spotted under hustling rider Saez !
#2) Youngest of Five 7-2 , will draw inside of Moretti and it will be interesting to see how this plays out from a pace standpoint.
Race 10) MSW ONE MILE ON TURF
#5) Mighty Road 7-2 ~ TOP PICK ~ hails from the mighty Brown barn whose runners debuting on turf strike at 27% . Daughter of Quality road was a $1M dollar purchase form OBS April working in 9 4/5 for Nick de Meric as Hip 444. I remember writing in my catalog “going to be lovely “ she looked super over the synthetic and clearly dirt is not her best surface ( see work below ) side note : her work mate is an un raced daughter of Paynter another Grad of OBS April #312 ( Saratoga Affair) we will wait eagerly for her debut!
