Woodbine – 5th race – 6-Rock the Beat-Ire (10-1)
Was given an educational run in her debut and should be set today for a much more serious run in this seven furlong maiden special weight turf event. A $500,000 yearling by Fastnet Rock, this Mark Casse-trained sophomore closed well but much too late in a hot six furlong dash last month and should be fitter, tighter, and ready to earn her diploma while benefitting from a bit longer trip today. Listed at 10-1 on the morning line, she offers considerable wagering value both in the straight pool and in rolling exotic play.
Woodbine – 8th race – 8-Conquest Vivi (2-1)
Broke her maiden at first asking by more than six lengths after lengthening out impressively in the final furlong and should have no trouble coming right back to win again in this Canadian-bred stakes for juveniles. Today’s extra furlong will only help, so this Mark Casse-trained daughter of Court Vision looks like a logical rolling exotic single and straight play at anywhere near her morning line of 2-1.
